Hi Mike! Welcome in to the community. When subscribers move lists, their stats would remain in the original list.

When they are moved, the list they are being moved into sees them as a new subscriber and would add them as newly subscribed.

Was there a reason you are moving subscribers between lists? You can use tags and segmentation to have subscribers managed in one list versus multiple and you can then send them content specifically based on what tags they have.

We have a post that gives an example of how you can use tags and segments.

i already use tags sometime i think too many… they leave my List A by signing up for new List B, so they don’t get emails from both i just want to follow where the lead was sourced from.

Hi Mike,

When you mentioned that you don’t want subscribers to receive emails from both lists, are you scheduling broadcast messages and including the an additional list when sending those broadcasts? If a subscriber is on both List A and List B, and you schedule a broadcast from List A while also including List B, our system can detect that the subscriber is on both lists. As a result, the broadcast email will be sent to them only once, not twice.

Have you considered keeping all subscribers in List A and simply adding a split path within a workflow automation? This way, they can receive different messages based on their preferences.

through aweber automation they are unsubbed from list A when they sign up for list b so as an undubbed they would not get an email broadcast.. list a only has 99 days of emails List B has 372 days of emails list a and list be are slightly different in the direction they are taken

Hi Mike.

Unfortunately, tags or stats for subscribers do not transfer from one list to another. When you mentioned wanting to track the source of the lead, were you referring to whether they signed up through a specific form or website? If you haven’t removed the subscribers from List A after adding them to List B, you can export the subscribers along with that data. If List B contains the same fields, you can import the subscribers and select the option to update existing, which will update their information.

If your goal is to track the form through which they signed up, you may need to create a custom field for that purpose. You can then apply this information in bulk and export the list of subscribers with the relevant data.
