How can I send a Broadcast to only the people who completed my Campaign already? I don’t want to send Broadcasts to people currently going through my Campaign

You can send Broadcast messages to people on your list without including those who are currently going through your Campaign. It’s super simple to accomplish using Segments and Tags!
As a heads up, you’ll need to be on a paid AWeber plan to make this work.

To get started, head over to your Subscribers tab and search for Tag > Is > “campaignend”. Even if no one shows up at first, don’t worry—segments are dynamic, so as people meet the criteria, they’ll automatically get added.

Next, make sure you’ve got an “Apply Tag” step at the end of your Campaign. This way, when someone finishes your Campaign, they’ll get tagged to show they’re done.

As soon as people finish the Campaign and get that tag (or if you add the tag manually), they’ll be added into the segment you created. To send a Broadcast just to them, go to Messages > Drafts, schedule your message, and instead of sending it to your whole list, just select the segment.

This is a feature I would definitely utilize! You can apply a tag at the end of a campaign to also trigger another campaign!

So when I send out broadcast, do I then need include “campaigned” in the automation? (I think that makes sense)

Thanks

Jeffrey

Hello Jeffrey!

  1. Apply a tag at the end of the automation (e.g., “campaigned” or any other short word or phrase of your choice).
  2. The tag will be assigned to people once they complete the campaign.
  3. Search for that tag in the subscriber section and save the search as a segment.
  4. To send messages to this segment, create a broadcast and select the segment of subscribers with the applied tag.

When you send out a broadcast you will select “send to segment” instead of ‘active subscribers’.

I hope that helps!!

Hi Mandy.
I completed steps 1 to 4. tag is “end of campaign”
Now when I send out my broadcast, if I don’t want it to be sent to leads that are still in automated campaign, I select “end of campaign” ? If so, then I understand.
My question now is, I would often mix sending broadcasts between “active subscribers” and “30 day openers”
From I can see, I can only choose one option. So I would have to choose “end of campaign” if I really don’t want those leads to receive the broadcast?
sorry for long winded explanation and hope it makes sense. I’m still wrapping my head around tags and segments. Thanks

Hey Jeffrey! If you are only looking to send to the people who have finished the Campaign, then you would want to send to the segment you create from the people who are getting the tag “end of campaign”. That way when your message is sent, it will only go to the people who had gotten to that point in the campaign so far.

If you have any other questions, let us know!
