Managing Multiple Businesses: Do You Need Separate Accounts for Each?

A topic that comes up in my conversations with customers is whether you need separate AWeber accounts for different businesses. The good news? You don’t!

You can actually manage multiple businesses in one account by using lists. This way, you can switch up the From name or email address depending on the audience you’re sending to, so your subscribers only get the content they signed up for. If you stick to one list, all your emails would go out under the same name/email, which isn’t ideal if you’re juggling multiple brands.

To set this up, just create your lists under List Management. To switch between lists, click on Lists, then select the one you want to work in. You’ll always know which list you’re working on by checking the upper left corner of your account.

I’m trying to add another list to a different account, but I don’t have that option. When I first created am Aweber acct, it was for a free one so I got 1 list.

I have upgraded to the Plus level for 3 sites.

The setup has the signup details on the site, goldensurvivalist that used the free version. the sme details aren’t in the new site ahorseblog, so it doesn’t let me add another list name.

should i remove the free version setup?

Tried removing first aweber auth key to add the new one for the Plus acct, but it says incorrect auth code.

Hi Teri,

It looks like you created 2 AWeber accounts. One on free, and one one Plus. You would need to make sure that you are logged into the Plus account when creating a new list, since the free account only supports 1 list. This will allow you to create a second list directly within the Plus account without being prompted to upgrade.

If you need to move any content from your free account to the new list in the Plus account after setting it up, here are instructions on how to move subscribers, messages, and Landing Pages between lists or accounts.
