Workflows and Newsletters

If I have a 3-stage workflow then continue on with a monthly newsletter, will a person who subscribes 6 months later still get those 6 newsletters?

Hey Sue,

If you have a Workflow that starts On Subscribe and all the messages are in it, a subscriber will get the messages after they sign up in the order/timing they are set up.

For Broadcast messages, those would not retroactively send to someone since those only send out once when scheduled. If you want those to send automatically down the line, you can add them into your workflow with wait periods in between based on how long you want it to wait between messages. Workflows are open ended, so you can continue to add to them as you go. You’d just want to make sure you publish the changes when you make them so they take effect.

Thanks Amanda. Re the Broadcast messages, if they are in the workflow and I wanted them to go out monthly they would go out say, 30 days after the person subscribes? So not the 1st day of the month for example?

Hey Sue,

If you have a message in the workflow you want to go out 30 days after someone subscribes, you would have a wait in your workflow of 30 days and then the message would send after that.

Otherwise if you have any messages that are date specific, you would want to send those as Broadcasts especially if you need everyone on the list to get them at the same time.

Thanks Amanda. I’ll try creating the messages in the workflow and see how it goes. I have quite a few messages from AI that I have edited and saved as drafts so I’m all good to go.

With these messages/newsletters should I add in subscribers names as I did with my 3 first workflow messages?
