Here’s the snippet I use at the beginning of my newsletter. It will add the subscriber’s first name if you have it. If you don’t have a name, they’ll get a wave hello.

Feel free to copy and paste:

Hey {{ subscriber.first_name | capitalize() or "👋🏼" }},

You can replace the emoji with the word “friend” or something else that fits you.
