I have created campaigns but as the audience changes, I cannot visualise how I move them through lists. For context, I have used another email provider where you use tags for differnt actions. That doesn’t seem possible here. AW seems very linear. I have a philosophy campaign that can be subscribed to via quiz or form. If they have come via the form, I also want them to take the quiz but I don’t want that email to go those who have already taken the quiz. Then I want to follow up with those who have not taken the quiz but move those who have back to the philosophy newletter. Hope that’s clear. Appreciate some help.
Welcome to the community, Sian!
I’ve removed specific mentions of your previous email provider from your post, since mentions of competitors are prohibited by our Community Guidelines.
There isn’t a way to move subscribers between lists using Campaigns, but you can manage your subscribers in one list using tags and segments to determine which Campaigns and broadcast messages your subscribers receive. For instance, you could set up your form Campaign to remove subscribers when they receive a ‘quiz’ tag, and you can set up your quiz to tag subscribers when they fill it out.
Then, you could have a separate Campaign set up to trigger when a subscriber gets the ‘quiz’ tag so that they can receive different emails.
If you want the subscribers from both Campaigns to receive broadcast messages after they complete the Campaigns, then you can set your workflow up for this as well.
We do also have an ongoing beta for an update version of the Campaign editor that supports branching, which may help to set up this workflow all in one place. You can sign up for the beta here to try it out!
Apologies. It was just in case it helped someone understand but Branching was the description I needed. I’ve signed up for the Beta to try. Thanks.
Hi again. I am using the Beta for Branching and have created Yes and No branches. Will the yes branch continue on the original path as well as receiving the additional email. If not, how do I get them back into the original newsletter path without starting them again as they will already have had the welcome email.
Hi Sian,
In the current version of the beta, there isn’t an option to merge branches to continue on the original path, but this is something we plan on adding with a future update.
In the meantime, you can always use a tag at the end of each branch to have subscribers trigger a separate Campaign once they reach that point in both branches.
Thanks. Yes, for now I have started them off in seperate campaigns and they meet in one where they continue without changes. Seems most simple way to do it for now.
