Email to same list segment but with different FROM email and name

We’re sending different messages to the same list (and to segments within that list), and need each message to use a different From name and From email address. Is it possible to select a different From name/address per message while staying in the same list? If yes, what settings or verification steps are required to make multiple From addresses selectable at send time?

If that’s not possible, is there a way to include a segment from another list in the same send (or include an entire other list) while ensuring deduplication and a single send per subscriber? Additionally, which list’s From address would be used in that case, and can it be overridden per send?

Hi Miles! Each list can only have one designated ‘from’ address. While you can change this address at any time, frequently updating it isn’t recommended as a best practice.

Instead, I recommend creating multiple lists to organize your subscribers based on the types of messages you’ll be sending them. When you send broadcasts, you can select multiple lists, and the system will automatically remove duplicates to ensure each subscriber receives the message only once—even if they’re on several lists.

Here’s an article on how to achieve this: How do I send a Broadcast message to multiple lists?

This approach gives you better organization and maintains consistent sender identity for your different message types.

Thank you, Michelle. We are refining our workflow, which is partially based on synchronization from our CRM via n8n. This information is helpful.

Miles & others,

For what it’s worth to you Miles and anyone else that might stumble on this thread…

General best practice these days in AWeber is to have a single main list and use tags and segments to divide subscribers into different groups. Miles, your situation is a bit different in that you want to send from distinct different FROM addresses. With that in mind, we generally recommend sticking with one main address that you send messages from as that address is a big part of what builds reputation at mailbox providers and allows your messages to be inboxed and engaged by your subscribers. Changing FROM addresses on an existing list can temporarily set your overall mailbox provider reputation lower until it rebuilds from activity. I don’t think that’s a concern for you Miles, but something to be aware of for others who might be contemplating something like this.
