Marking test emails as TEST

Feature I’m looking for: Plainly mark test emails as “Test”

Problem this feature will solve: avoid confusion when test emails are sent from email creator to person approving. It would also reduce confusion when seeking client approvals for advertising.

How I will use this feature for my business: To avoid panic that a problematic email was sent.

Context:

My assistant created an email that was scheduled for a future date. When it was complete, she sent me a test, which appeared in my email box the next morning. I mistakenly thought that she sent it to our list too soon because I didn’t see any indication that it was a test. In other systems I have used, Tests are plainly marked in the subject as “TEST [then the email subject]”. Alternatively, maybe when a Test is sent, a concurrent message can go to the same address saying “you were sent a test”.

Making this change would have saved some panic and confusion for both of us. It would also help me send tests to outside clients when I include an advertisement for them in my emails.

Thanks.

Matt

I have an answer for you! As we have the situation at my company

here’s what we do: when my assistant sends me a test she always puts the name “ChristinaTest” as my first name, and then my email Christina+test@mydomain.com

this then comes to me and I can tell it’s a test and not the broadcast that goes out.

so then I can always search my email for “ChristinaTest” and find only the AWeber test broadcasts before we blast the whole list.

make sense ?

Thanks, Christina. maybe I’ll try that. Our current workaround is the email creator sending me a Google Chat message labeled “Email Test coming” but yours may be better.
