Is there a written manual for Aweber? To me, the information via video is awkward and slow to get at and very incomplete. It took me a while just to figure out what the workflow is, and not to mention wanting to understand the use and power of Aweber. For example, where are the API docs or the macro/substitution tokens used in the HTML? I spent forever trying to understand how to design a template. I’m feeling my way through in the dark.
Hope this helps . Here is the knowledge base section https://help.aweber.com/hc/en-us
And here are the API docs https://api.aweber.com/.

Hello! If you are looking to set up a custom API integration with your AWeber account you can also send an email to api@aweber.com and that goes directly to our engineers who can assist as well.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
I completely understand where you’re coming from! While video tutorials are great for some, I know they might not always be the quickest or most detailed way to find the information you’re looking for.
To better assist you, could you let me know if there’s something specific you’re trying to create or achieve with AWeber? I’d be happy to provide detailed written instructions that suit your needs.

Hi Mylinh,
I’m wanting to send a follow-up email/newsletter to my customers who have all opted in to receive a newsletter. In it we offer a coupon towards a discount on a few select products.
I have people who opted in via AWeber (let’s call this AW) and people who opted in via our checkout cart (let’s name this (CC) and those did not go through AWeber. I do not know who set that up for checkout, but the fact remains they have not gotten any newsletter unless they also opted into the AWeber lists. I want to find out if any/all/none/ or some of the people in the (CC) list are also in the AW list. Is there an easy way that I can determine this without searching and looking at the list?
I want to then import the CC list of people that are not in the AW list.
Lastly, I want to do a campaign by tagging roughly 500 customers so I can send them the new newsletter. I would like to search for them and then tag that result set.
Can I tag the customer first and then create the campaign or do I have to create the campaign and then tag the customers?
I can use my Quickbook’s file to search for customers to email to and export that list. I then want to tag the list in AWeber with thos names. How do I do that?
To check if any customers from your CC list are already in your AW list, you can use the Update on Import option. Here’s how:
- First import the CC list into the AW list using the Update existing import option. This will match any existing subscribers based on their email addresses, and you’ll be able to identify the ones already in your AW list. You can utilize tags to identify these subscribers!
- After updating your subscribers, you can search for subscribers with the tag on the Subscribers page to locate those customers within your AW list.
- Once this is done, you can import the rest of the CC list using the Add new import option to bring in any additional subscribers who are not yet in AWeber.
That being said, I recommend creating your campaign first before tagging your subscribers. This is because the campaign will only be triggered once the tag is applied (and after the campaign is activated). This way, you can ensure that the right subscribers receive your emails as intended.
Lastly, when you have your QuickBooks export, you can use the Update existing import option to match and identify those subscribers in AWeber. This allows you to tag them and add them to your email campaigns easily.
I hope this helps. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to reach out. I’m here to help!
Thank you Mylinh_T .
