Hi guys, I was wondering if there was a way to NOT send an email to a segment of my list. I know that you usually want to segment out people so you can send email to that specific segment but is there a way to do the revers?
Hi Patrick,
Make a segment that excludes the people you don’t want to send to. Segments are super flexible to include whatever criteria you would like.
Combining separate segments at send time is intentionally not done because it greatly increases the confusion we see from users about knowing who’s being sent to based on including and excluding different groups. Making a segment that includes or excludes who you want in the subscriber management area gives you the ability to preview and vet that the people you’re sending to are the ones you intend, thus greatly diminishing the opportunity to send to the wrong people.

To add some more clarity to the process, you could tag the people you are looking NOT to send to and you can then create a segment based off of Tag>Is Not>Name of Tag and send to that segment. That way it would only go to the people who do not have the tag and the people with it wouldn’t be included in your send.
