  2. What type of business are you in and can you share a win you had recently with it? |
    Market-research Interpreting. My work used to be face-to-face, covid nearly killed it and after moving country and changing business ID (diff laws) twice, am down to <50% of usual earnings. My big win? Understanding that today’s situations are dependent on yesterday’s decisions, and if I can effectively sabotage myself, I can also choose to rebuild. There is always a choice.

  3. What part of being a business owner (or promoter) brings you the most joy? |
    Room for manoeuver: in my fifties, I decided to take 10 years off as “pre-retirement”. Traveled the world and came back 20 years ago, called up old clients and carried on at same revenue as before as if nothing had happened. I rarely have client bookings more than 2-3 weeks ahead. Many people couldn’t stand the insecurity. I tell them: “I have 25 bosses, if one of them sacks my, I lose maybe 4% of my income. You have 1 boss…”

  4. What’s the one thing you’ve learned that you would share with a new or aspiring business owner?
    Read and learn. Even “The Magic of Thinking Big”-type books. But remember: 1. Be realistic and work on achievable goals. 2. Plan, Organize, Ship, Measure and Ship again, better each time.

  5. Share one random fact about yourself (something you are passionate about outside of business, your go to breakfast drink, etc). |
    I lived in the Amazon jungle for 3-4 months (not sure how long exactly, time doesn’t matter there!); my go-to (i.e. only) breakfast, noon and nighttime drink was pure, brown, unfiltered river water. Never felt better lol

I love the idea that you do not have any wisdom to share yet. I joined a few years ago and I can assure you there is nothing yet to share apart from sending out beautiful newsletters. Welcome aboard!
