How to use Etsy to grow your email list

If you’re a creator or small business that has a shop on Etsy, you’ll obviously want to be able to stay up to date with your customers and let them know when you have a really cool promo coming up or going on, right?

Etsy holds on tightly to all of your customer information, and they don’t share or allow you to export those customer details directly. What you can do instead, is promote a landing page or sign up form within your Etsy shop!

This is also a great way to offer an incentive to your customers so they sign up and turn into repeat customers. It’s a great way to establish relationships while also staying in compliance with Etsy.

I’m going to walk you through exactly how to create a landing page right within your AWeber account and add it to Etsy. Oh, and the landing page tool is included in all of our plans. On our Free plan you can create one page, on Lite you can create three and on Plus and Unlimited you can create as many as you’d like.

To get this set up, let’s create a Landing Page within AWeber. From there, you can publish your page before finally adding it to your Etsy shop.

First, you’ll log into your Etsy shop, then go to the Shop Manager.

Click on the pencil icon you see next to your shop, on the sidebar.

You’ll then see an option to add a link under the About>Around the Web section.

You also have the option to add the link to a shop announcement, too! You’ll repeat clicking on the pencil icon next to your shop’s name, but scroll down to Announcements and click on Add a Shop Announcement.

Now, customers who click the link to your page can get added to your AWeber list as a subscriber.

As for delivering any additional incentives, you can have a Campaign message set up to send with a discount code or offer automatically after someone signs up to your list!

(Note: If you are on AWeber Free, you can only have one Campaign series, on Lite you can have three, and on Plus and Unlimited you can have as many as you’d like.)

Are you tabling at a local craft show or are out and about and want to get people to sign up to your email list? You can do so by using a QR code! Once you create a QR code, you can link it to your AWeber landing page and both existing and potential customers can scan the code to be directed to your landing page.

You can have that QR code printed out on your business cards or have a printed card/sheet with the code on it at your table or booth.

Another cool idea is to physically print it out and include it with your order when you ship it out after someone buys (ex: sticker, cardstock, etc). You can create a QR code for free now using Canva.
