How do I build an email list? I’m new to email marketing

Excited to get started with email marketing? Let’s go! If you don’t have a list yet, we’ve got you covered. Here are some quick and easy ways to start gathering and engaging subscribers.

One of the simplest ways to begin is by creating a sign-up form or landing page and sharing it on your social media platforms. This approach helps you reach a broad audience without any costs involved. If you have a website, even better—place your sign-up form or landing page there as well.

To encourage people to subscribe, consider offering an incentive, such as a freebie. For instance, if you blog about cooking, you might offer a free recipe as a thank you for subscribing. This freebie can be delivered via a campaign email once the sign-up is complete, or you can direct new subscribers to the freebie immediately after they fill out your form. Just ensure the file is hosted on a platform like Google Drive, Dropbox, or your own website if you have one.

When sharing your form, it’s crucial to set clear expectations. Let potential subscribers know how often they will receive emails and what kind of content they can expect.

These are great tips! Some people feel like they need to wait until they have a website to start building a list; you don’t have to! If you’ve got social media channels, use that and promote your sign ups that way; it also doesn’t cost you anything to do it that way.

If you’re someone that goes to events as well, you could have a QR code linked to your sign up form or page on your business cards or on a sign at your table and promote sign ups that way too!
