I have a landing page with a form that has 3 fields on it; name, email, and a custom field where the potential donor (it’s for a non profit) can tell me what they want more information about. When I tested it by subscribing with a personal email, the field is in my subscriber list, but it is not populated. When I filled in the form I put “Testing where this goes” but there’s nothing in the box under the label of the custom field on my subscriber’s list. What happened to that data, or what do I need to do to access that data?
Hi Charles,
Welcome to the community!
The account you have with the email address from your profile doesn’t seem to have any custom fields configured in it. If perhaps you have a different account, it might be best to contact our CS team directly so we can privately look at your account and give you specific information based on what we see there.
To add a custom field you would want to:
- Create the custom field
- Add the custom field to a web form or landing page.
- Add a test subscriber and verify that the custom data shows up in the subscriber profile.
yes, I accidentally posted this question from my own account, but the situation was actually encountered on the account I set up for a friend and his non-profit. the email address associated with that account is (redacted). I guess I’ll call the CS team tomorrow during their operating hours.
I see the form embedded on your published landing page. Looking at it closer, it looks like perhaps the custom field name was changed after the landing page was published.
Custom field name: “What would you like us to contact you about”
Landing page form field name: “Type of help”
I’d recommend changing the custom field name back to the more generic “Type of help” to match what’s already on the landing page.
