If you didn’t know, you need to have a physical address at the bottom of your emails. This is required by the CAN-SPAM Act. This physical address requirement keeps spammers at bay and cuts down on unwanted emails in our inboxes.
The U.S. anti-spam law, CAN-SPAM, came into action in 2003, and it set up several rules for sending emails, which include a physical address at the bottom of your emails.
Don’t worry if you’re not keen on using your home address; there are some other options! Here are a few alternatives:
- Use a PO Box: If you’ve already got one, you can use it instead of your physical address.
- Get a physical mailing address through an address service: There are tons of companies that offer this, but prices can vary, so shop around!
- Use a business partner’s address: As long as they’ve given permission and you can receive your mail from them, you can use their address.
- Go for a virtual mailbox: A lot of companies offer this option, but keep in mind you might not be able to get packages sent to that address depending on the service you choose.
