Video thumbnails not rendering properly inside AWeber email campaigns?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to use AWeber to send out email campaigns where I embed capcut-edited video content using a thumbnail + “click to watch full video” link (usually pointing to YouTube or a landing page).

The workflow is pretty simple in theory:

  • Edit video

  • Export a thumbnail + final video

  • Upload thumbnail into AWeber email

  • Add a “click to watch full video” CTA link

After exporting from capcut, I sometimes notice I have to click on different preview versions just to check how the thumbnail behaves across devices, especially on mobile email clients.

In a few cases, the capcut-generated thumbnails also appear slightly compressed or blurred inside AWeber, and the click-through image doesn’t always behave consistently.

Has anyone else experienced this when using capcut exports in AWeber campaigns?

Is this more likely an image compression issue from capcut exports, or an AWeber email rendering limitation?

Would appreciate any best practices for keeping thumbnails sharp and ensuring the “click to watch” experience is consistent across inboxes.

If there’s a setup guide or optimization checklist, please visit this site and share it here if possible.

Hello Alisha,

Welcome in! If your thumbnails are showing as blurry or not in high quality as you expect, you can click on the image of the thumbnail in the message editor and make sure it is set to “Original” so that it shows the original size and you can then resize from there.

If you have done that and it’s still not showing correctly, it may be how Capcut is rendering the thumbnail. You may want to reach out to Capcut for further assistance if it’s not resizing as you intend on export from their platform.

I did find this article about thumbnail size with some steps from Capcut.

You can also reach out to us directly and we can take a look at your images in the message to see what’s going on.
