How to sell digital products and services online

With so many of our prospects and customers online, you need to consider expanding to digital sales if you aren’t already. This helps get your services and products in front of more people, and in turn, can help you generate more sales!

You may be asking yourself “Ok great, but what can I sell online that I’m already offering in person?”

Some of the things you can sell online include:

  • Entry to courses or classes you offer in person or online (for example collecting payment ahead for Zumba classes like our own Alycia does)

  • Ebooks or PDF guides

  • Videos or Music

  • Digital assets like graphics or templates

  • Handmade crafts

These are just some suggestions to help get you started and thinking about what would work for your business situation.

An easy way to get started with this is through the ecommerce element on a landing page. You can create your products and sell them right from the landing page. “But what about collecting payment?!” You can do that right on the landing page, too! The ecommerce element connects to Stripe, so all payments you’re taking would come through Stripe.

Note: You will need to set up a Stripe account in order to take sales through a landing page.

You can then send an email to your subscribers with a link to download what they purchased or to access. If it’s a physical product, you provide instructions or request further information from the buyer to get their order to them.

We’ve got some questions for you…

What products or services are you selling online right now?

We’re super curious; how do you go from idea to sale?

Tell us about your process, your tools, or even your wins and lessons. Let’s inspire each other!

A great way to that I like to look at beginning to sell online is by turning something you already offer, like a service, class, or resource, into a digital product. Using powerful tools like Canva make the process all the easier today.

As Amanda discussed, you can then easily create a landing page, add the ecommerce element, and connect Stripe to begin accepting payments right away. From there, set up a Campaign so your customers quickly receive what they’ve purchased and you get helpful data around who opens your messages and clicks your links.
