Hi guys, I’ve just started using AWeber, so please bear with me.
2 questions:
a) I was surprised that your Help files do not say anything about using a subdomain to protect the primary domain and no instructions on how to set it up correctly. Instead the Help files encourage users to use their primary domain or at least I got this impression. Or am i wrong and are there actually instructions on how to send emails from hello [at] newsletter [dot] mycustomdomain [dot] com instead of hello [at] mycustomdomain [dot] com? I understand this is one of the best practices in email marketing. I’ve used a workaround to ensure i have a From address: hello [at] newsletter [dot] mycustomdomain [dot] com and it works, but it wasn’t easy nor simple.
To give you more context: I have my own website and implemented the embedded forms on my website. I now have in the Domains tab two domains: a) my primary domain mycustomdomain [dot] com which got in their automatically, because I’d signed up with my official email address, which is hello [at] mycustomdomain [dot] com. This primary domain remains unauthenticated on purpose, because I do not plan on sending anything from my primary domain; b) the above subdomain newsletter [dot] mycustomdomain [dot] com which is authenticated and verified and with all DKIM, SPF and DMARC settings set up and from which I can send emails. My question: does it look like the correct setup to you?
b) I cannot understand how i can set up a “Reply-To” address that is different from “From” address. Could you please guide me as to how I can ensure that all emails, including the double opt-in sequence (confirmation and welcome emails), have the “Reply-To” address hello [at] mycustomdomain [dot] com instead of hello [at] newsletter [dot] mycustomdomain [dot] com ? Like I said there is no problem with the “From” address, it works, but it should not be the same as the Reply-To address. The reason I want to implement it is to make it easy for would-be subscribers to reply to my automatic Welcome email just by hitting a reply arrow and replying to the correct “Reply-To” address hello [at] mycustomdomain [dot] com
Thank you in advance for your advice and help.
