There are many reasons why you might want to customize your Landing Page’s URL; You may want to make it consistent with your website. You might want it to mirror a specific promotion. I recently had a writer who wanted to set an about page for one of his fictional characters. Whatever the reason, you have a few options to jazz up your URL:
-
Change the subdomain
-
Add a custom page path (eample: yoursubdomain.aweb.page/optin)
-
Fully connect your own domain. Yes, you can make it 100% yours!
1: Change the subdomain: Just cruise over to Domains and Addresses and find the AWeber Subdomain section. Drop in your preferred subdomain, and boom—it’ll apply to all your landing pages. Just remember, what you enter here will show up on every single one of them!
- Add a custom page path: To add a page path to the end of your url, just click to over to your Landing Pages, click on the page name to edit, and go to Settings.
From there, you can add a fun page path like the example I shared above: “yoursubdomain.aweb.page/optin” - and make your URL unique.
You’ll then go down to Page Path and enter what you want to appear at the end of the url.
- If you’d rather connect your domain (or a subdomain that is tied to your domain) to your landing pages, you’ll go to Domains and Addresses and add your domain under Landing Page domains.
You’ll be given the records you need to add in your webhost to tie your domain to AWeber. IMPORTANT NOTE, if you connect your main domain to your landing pages, it will overwrite the content on your website.
Once you have this in place, go back into your landing page and you’ll update the url. Select Custom Domain. If you would also like to add a page path, you are able:
Don’t forget to hit that publish button once you’ve updated your URL.
