How To Set Up An Automated Email For New Subscribers

The moment someone hits that subscribe button, you want to make them feel like they just joined the coolest club in town, right? That’s where a ‘welcome campaign’ comes in :tada: ! This helps you begin connecting with your subscribers right away, even as you’re working on other parts of your business. You don’t want people signing up and then not hearing from you!

Setting it up is quick and easy—you can have everything ready in just a few minutes.

First, head over to Campaigns and hit Create Campaign.

You’ll have two options: make a campaign from scratch, or start off with one of our premade Campaign templates. If you’re not sure exactly what to write, I recommend the Welcome Series template. It’s got a solid example of what to include in your welcome email, and you can customize it to make it yours.

Once you get into your Campaign, make sure it’s set to trigger On Subscribe! If you’re wanting to get more specific with who this goes out to (for example, you want the message to send to subscribers getting a specific tag), just switch up the trigger. You can spice up your message in the Welcome Series campaign by clicking the title, then hitting it again on the right side.

If you want to create a brand new message, just drag the Send Message step into the Campaign and click Create A Message. Got a draft you’ve already worked on and want to use? No problem—just click Choose Message instead and pick the one you want to add.

Once your message is in there, save your Campaign and hit that activate button! It needs to be active to send out when new people join your list.

Hi Claire,

In this case, we’ll need some specific information from your account. As that information is sensitive, I’ve just sent you an email from help@aweber.com so that we can talk securely and investigate this further.
